Wedding details you won’t want to forget about
Planning a wedding means keeping track of so many little details that it’s easy for a few important ones to slip through the cracks. Here are some commonly forgotten wedding details worth adding to your checklist:
Vendor meals — Don’t forget to confirm whether your photographer, DJ, planner, or other vendors need meals.
Transportation — Think beyond getting to the ceremony. How will you, your wedding party, and immediate family get to the reception or hotel at the end of the night?
Marriage license — It’s not the most exciting item on the list, but it’s one of the most important!
Tips and final payments — Prepare envelopes or a payment plan ahead of time so you’re not scrambling on the wedding day.
Rings — Assign someone trustworthy to keep track of them before the ceremony.
Guest book and cards — Decide where they’ll go and who will take them home at the end of the night.
Cake-cutting supplies — Your venue may not automatically provide a cake knife, server, or table decorations.
Emergency kit — Pack things like safety pins, stain remover, tissues, pain reliever, fashion tape, and a mini sewing kit.
Overnight bags — If you’re staying somewhere different after the wedding, make sure those bags actually make it there.
End-of-night cleanup — Decide in advance who is responsible for gifts, décor, personal items, leftover food, and anything else that needs to leave the venue.
The big takeaway? If it needs to be picked up, delivered, signed, paid for, worn, carried, or taken home, put someone’s name next to it. Your future wedding-day self will thank you!
